The Health Problems Patients Keep Quiet About

Adapted from my LinkedIn posts, April 2026 to June 2026.

Incontinence is neglected by all of us

Urinary incontinence, the leaking of urine, is neglected by all of us. I have seen patients who told me that no other doctor had asked permission to examine them.

Society finds its own fix: wear an adult diaper and carry on. What a pity.

Lifestyle sits behind many illnesses

In April 2025 I spent time with Dr Vineet Malhotra, learning clinical and practical andrology, the care of men's reproductive and sexual health. What I learnt, beyond the clinical work, is that many men had lifestyle issues leading to severe ailments.

I could connect many diseases with lack of sleep, junk food, high salt intake, smoking, alcohol, stress, frequent travel, psychological disorders, lack of exercise, and no proper education about disease.

I hope society as a whole understands this, for andrology problems and also for keeping healthy and living a normal life.

Holding urine has a cost

From a urology perspective, holding urine for a long time may pose significant health risks and lead to many problems.

If you have leakage or other urinary symptoms, see a urologist.
